FOOD SAFETY AND SUSTAINABILITY

Our mission is to feed the world the healthiest protein on the planet, and that starts with ensuring everything we provide is safe to eat. From our in-house labs, portside inspections, and comprehensive product assurance, we meet and surpass state and federal industry standards.

We understand that sustainability is vital to our planet, our waterways, and the future of our fisheries. COMPANY HISTORY

It was 1921 when Frank Dulcich Senior (Pacific Seafood’s founder) arrived in Portland, Oregon from Croatia. He immediately got a job cutting fish for a fellow Croatian immigrant and soon saw the opportunity to fulfill his own American Dream. He began buying fish on the Oregon coast and selling to smaller fish shops and restaurants in the area.

By 1940, Frank Senior was joined by his son Dominic, and the next year they opened Pacific Fish & Oyster, a modest facility on Powell Street that served as a fish shop and housed their local distribution operations. Dominic’s son and Pacific Seafood’s current CEO, Frank Dulcich (named after his grandfather), set up shop trading fish from the original Powell Street building. Frank’s operations soon outgrew this location and moved to a new facility in Clackamas to better serve distribution customers.

After establishing a strong customer base domestically, the company expanded internationally from 1977 to 1979. By expanding sales opportunities abroad with export and import capabilities, Pacific Seafood established itself in the global market.

Pacific Seafood expanded from distribution to processing with the purchase of a processing plant in Warrenton, Oregon in 1983. In the following decades, Pacific Seafood expanded further with fishing vessels, aquaculture operations, and additional facilities throughout the United States.

In recent years, the company has evolved from a commodity-based company to include robust value-added capabilities, meeting the extensive needs of today’s consumers.

Pacific Seafood remains family owned and operated. Still headquartered in Clackamas, Oregon, we have grown to employ more than 3,000 team members across 40 facilities in three countries, selling products across the U.S. and the world.
